Leah Bailey was born in Columbus GA where her lifelong love of horses began. She started riding lessons at age 7 and got her first Connemara Pony at age 9. Leah competed in both Hunter Jumper and Eventing which became her competition of choice.
As a Sophomore at St. Andrew’s Sewanee Prep School Leah rode with the University of the South Equestrian Team for one year. Beginning in 1991 Leah spent several Summer’s teaching riding at Camp Green Cove in Tuxedo, NC where she eventually stayed on staff one Winter as barn manager and instructor. In the years following Leah continued to ride, teach and work in barns on the side as her full time position was veterinary assistant at All Creatures Animal Care Center in Madison, MS for six years. After her work at the Vet Leah took a break from the horse world to marry and raise her two children.
In September 2015 Leah began working part time in Equine Assisted Psychotherapy following the Eagala Model. She completed parts 1 and 2 of Eagala Training in the Spring of 2016. Leah works with longtime friends Tim and Michele Risler who own and operate Equine Healing Solutions in Flora, MS. Most recently, Leah returned to Camp Green Cove as Co-Head of riding for Summer 2016.
Currently, Leah plans to continue working with Equine Healing Solutions, spend time with her family and her 21 year old, dark bay Thoroughbred Champ.
